I dont know if this is already common knowledge. But getjar.com is a site that pretty much host mobile apps. And the Finesse actually allows the download to go through, but it none of the programs would load because of it being a bad mimetype/unsupported file.

I was just wondering if this could be of any help and use to crack down on the Finesse even more, if im not already late.

I myself am trying to find out the same question.  I think that it might be that the Fin Doesn't have JM2E (java mobile 2nd edition) I think that it doesn't allow real time access.  I have the Fin through a carrier other than metro pcs and I don't have brew available so Need a way to get applications on the phone without going through the third party service.  So if anyone can help me out with this also I would love this to death for more apps (From Instant Messaging to Email Client Apps please)

The OS is BREW, and Java isn't supported out of box. At least for Metro and most carriers.

The best solution is to find a carrier that has the finesse but has Java installed. We can then use that "firmware" with metro settings.

is there a way to check the Firmware on a samsung because I do not have Metro so there might be a possibility that I have Java on my phone.

If you use any of the carriers talked about on this site (so far), and you haven't messed with the firmware, you only have BREW.
