Im not trying to turn you away from this phone, but Im telling you what I wanted to know before I brought it and there weren't any reviews at the time. You can't download anything to the phone (songs, video, pdf files, games, ect,.). You can't stream any media ( music, video, ect, that include YOUTUBE and relative media). Just telling you this because I wanted someone to tell me before I purchased the phone. There is one good thing that came out it. If I never bought it i wouldn't have found this site and the excellent group of people that gave me  hope that one day it will have all the feature that made me purchase it for in the first place. Thank Guy's Cry

THIS GROUP/FORUM IS THE BEST-love you all you've been extremely pleasent/helpfull. I guess cause we're all out $350+++ with a phone that is WAY sub PAR!

The previous poster put it all in a nut shell.

I have a bit more to add. The menus, setups, functions are so un user friendly  that it's frustrating.  Another poster summed it up perfectly responding to my inquiry: "the last time I saw a phone with a 500 limit on the contacts was in 2001"

I LOVE a good bargain, and the $50 plan seemed very enticing.  But believe me when I tell you this is the first time I started to rethink the quote: "you get what you pay for"...they make you work for every penny you save.

Hey...don't expect no EvDO/3G speeds either. So far from navigating this forum nobody knows where it is or where it's coming.

Even the $$$ I just spent on the memory is $$$ down the drain. I thought I would have some new doors open up with memcard installed. Not really... unless you count a 16GB of crap MP3 player or CreditCard sized screen video player a big plus.

Guys as much as I love this forum I feel we've been screwed for $350.  I don't consider myself quite a business user, but even I can't find enough hr's in a day to put in the research to make this f***ing thing FUNCTION???

Does any1 know if the blackberry curve is any better? Im not a business person but i do love to chat n surf, and im really into gadgets. I want to stick to metro because i did the contract, and hated it!! I love being able to text and talk anytime i like, and not worry about overages! Thought things had finally turned around for metro.I have the razor but wanted something way cooler lol Cry

The thing is the community here has worked and successfully hacked the phone. I have a manual in the works that will go over each point to make this phone functional all the way up to iPhone competitor. The thing is, people have also complained that the r8xx class phones from Samsung so far have excluded wifi, and for what specific reason?

Anyways, the BBCurve is ok, but it suffers from a lot of things that the Fin does. No youtube either as far as I know. Also, the Curve actually has a smaller battery! The good news is that if you do get the curve, you get plenty of cool features right out of the box, including streaming radio and 3 full pages of other "nifty" apps, at least. I saw a really good video review of it.

But to as why I bought the Fin, I felt that I wanted the phone with the most potential that metro had at the time. It also fills its need extremely well in my household (gmail, myspace, massive card support, workable media players, no distracting games for now, and cell service without breaking the bank).

DavidBart:

I'm sorry that you feel that you wasted your money.  I don't know for how many people I speak for, but I feel the phone is great!  Don't get me wrong, this is no iPhone, but then again, I never expected to be.  Lets never forget that the carrier is still MetroPCS.  You don't fly Spirit air for the comfy seats and superb flight entertainment, you do it for the cheap price  Wink.  I think that the phone is really awesome...I feel that I can do so much with it.  I won't lie I DO need my calendar synced!!!! LOL! but I'm sure that with the people in this forum, we will have it soon.

The way the contacts work on this phone right now, I doubt we'll be covering that point. If we do, it will happen later on for legacy/lazy purposes only. I would much rather work on documenting the best known community way to upgrade the contacts list to how it should be on a phone with this much untapped potential. I think your question is important though, very, simply because it shows me that I need to edit that post a bit to kind of get the idea across of what the manual is, more exactly. I think you and I had a little miscommunication on that point. Sorry!

Oh, but sure. Yes. I fully expect a sticky topic on the matter though!

ok first will start with the ring tones . you say you have 200 songs and dont know how to set them for ring tone ... sd card if there in your my music folder you  have to put your card back in the computer and move the ones you would want as a ring tone in to your ring tone folder ... once you do that go to menu , multimedia , my ring tones , then pick and set the ones you choose . as for pics and vids move them to your sd card to do that just go to your pic or vid and then more and choose move to card . it would make it over all easier just to have your phone save automatically to the sd card . for that menu , settings ,memory manager , save options , set both to card ... and after you moved your pic and vids to card put it in your computer ..........
