metro has updated mail@metro
it has a newer more flashy gui
AND IT SUPPORTS YAHOO MAIL!!!!!

yes i will  Grin
first go to @metro
Settings - Manage Apps- and delete mail@metro
then now go to MobileShop and go to Metro Featured Apps and it should be there
download it and be amazed lol
just that it does take some time to start it up after you download it

Wow, I wonder why this didn't work for me.  What did I miss?

I went to "manage apps", removed the mail, then went out and into mobile shop to metro featured apps (looking at it right now) and see only:

@
hot
tones & pics
games
connected
sabor
search

Help?

you can just goto the menu, and click mail@metro, its the first icon on the list. when you select that, it will tell you its not found and will ask you to search the catalog, select yes and it will look it up for you. Ive been trying to download it for hours now... i dont know if its a problem on my end, my connection is always shady at home, ill try it out again when im out and about in the morning.

Well, since it wasn't working the way the o.p. mentioned, I tried it as you suggested, gopher, and got:  "install failed"  after about .. seven minutes of loading.

I'm trying again now, though I didn't do anything different.

It seems like now I've just lost the mail function completely.

I had to delete it completley and then upload it again. And it did fail the first time for me as well. But the second time i did it it loaded and it works awesome.

Dont worry, I had this going for HOURS! I just managed to successfully download and install.

I am loving this new mail app.

So much faster, and functional than that old POS.

Although I wish it would run as a background app as well, checking often for new emails.

I just finished trying the same with MobileIM, no luck. You will just have to re-enter all of your user info and loose your conversations... Thats the only other app I use that I want to see get a face lift... and yahoo Cheesy
