My experience is 5 minutes at a friend's house a couple of months back. I know I like the desktop/icons better.

I went to a recent microsoft convention and they gave away free versions of windows 7 ultimate, i installed it as soon as i got home on my vista machine, and i must say, this is what vista should have been in the first place.  It runs games a whole lot better and the new bar in the bottom is perfect.  all around amazing.

I still wait for the native ability to "pristine" move an install to another box. I've bought too many programs that are now thrown away simply because. I can't play any Diablo because of this, and I know there should be a simple way to copy your stuff to a reserved space/drive (well besides norton ghost, etc, which I really don't agree with).

Does anyone get what I'm trying to say here?

sorry no not really ... i dont see how you buy programs and then junk them because they are not compatible with your os ... just about all programs , purchased online ( download ) or c/d dvd give you details on what os you can run them on ...

^Well, I was in the military and I had my CDs installers and keys. I come back and all my CDs are missing because I trusted someone who lost their mind. Heh. If there was a realistic admin system, I wouldn't have had to build everything back up from scratch. And no, I never really have had a strong enough desire to play anything Diablo except 3 when it comes out.

I really never got around to setting up a backup of everything I needed in online form. That was my fault, but it's also microsoft's fault for never really getting me to think that those steps were important. But they are.
