I am copying the info from the Device Information hidden menu on my Fin. Hope this helps!

BREW Info
    BREW 3.1.5.142
    PEK 3.1.5.183
    App Mgr 2.0.4.v1.p3
    Platform ID 2353

This is what you need to get started with BREW.

I've been studying what's needed for the next steps.

We need BREW Tools(TM), which I was reading about how it cost $1500 to get that suite of apps (only available on Qualcomm's Developer Extranet. I hope your link let's me just get it, Hot_Boy!

Anyways, we will have to have 3 of the following 4 file types ready, per app, to put on the Fin with AppLoader in BREW Tools.
  • name.mif - Meta File
  • name.mod - Runtime Binary
  • name.bar - Resource File, not required
  • name.sig - Verisign Digital Signature

The Signature File has to be generated with BREW Tools TestSig Generator. Based on more reading, as long as we have the .sig file, we should be fine. Supposedly the policy to have the phone in test mode was "outmoded" starting with BREW 3.1. The Fin uses BREW 3.1.5. I don't know what requirements the TestSig Generator app has though, so we might still be running into issues.

I hope AppLoader works as a file browser.

I've been feverishly looking for some solution to the digital signature problem.  I've also been looking for the latest version of BREW Tools as well. (3.1.5 I think...?)

I've been all over the torrents, but have yet to check the newsgroups.

I did find one super promising lead, only to have it fizzle out!

I'll let you guys know if I can dig anything up.

Just to clear things up you guys are trying to convert other apps to put on the phone or are you actually looking to develop?
I'm going to work on porting a browser. I want to do opera but might go to an open source alternative. I will post any success and failures I have. Mostly failures though...thats just the name of the game.
