Couldn't help but notice the lack of a Straight Talk thread.

The Finesse just came out for ST not even a month ago, so there probably aren't many ST Finesse owners yet, but there should be soon considering ST is now probably the best prepaid option available. I just switched from Net10 and i'm LOVING it. A few of my friends I've told about it are switching too, a couple considering getting the fin.

As far as I can tell we have the same drawbacks as the MetroPCS people (No java, video downloads, etc) but we are also missing GPS and Games. The GPS doesnt bother me but it sure does suck not having games! There's nothing available on the ST site, perhaps there will be in the near future.

We are here! I think there will be more discussion tailored to the Straight Talk users as more find this board. There are large differences between the way MetroPC allows the phone to be used ( GPS, email to name a couple). Walmart is carrying the Straight Talk version so it will likely gain some acceptance just from wide availability. I have the Finesse and am pretty happy with it but also frustrated by some aspects (scrolling to read websites, ascending ringtone that can't be heard until the second or third ring, lack of flash in video) I expect there to be more talk coming related to the ST version.

you can fix the ringtone by making your own and loading it on there. when making your own ringtone set the first 1-3 seconds alotttt louder than the rest. it will even out. there is a thread on here i think

Yeah, there are a lot of limitations and it takes a long time to make an authorized BREW app, so that's probably the hold up on games.

The good news is if it's like other providers, you can get all of your wallpapers and ringtones free.

Would be nice to see if anyone can hack the st phone for using streaming video and other apps.

I just got the finesse about a week ago with straight talk. I had the samsung r451 for 2 months previous. I find it to be a huge step up from the r451, but I get frustrated at the limitations put in place by the carrier. I guess that's the trade off for $45.00 a month. As far as what it can do I really like it. The full html is big for me, the camera and camcorder also are nice to have. I keep looking for the word on youtube, just waiting for someone to break it open I guess. I look forward to talking and reading about other straight talk customers with this phone!

Has anyone found the msl/spc for the ST r810c?  So far i have used the msl/spcs for the metropcs r810 list in this forum, but they did not work (6 Digit Generic Metro MSL Code: 587846 6 Digit Specific SPC (sometimes called MSL) Code: Generated, based on ESN. 6 Digit Alternate Lock Code: 810667 10 Digit Lock Code: 0267312809  16 Digit Password: 2008102120080228).

I have tried generating a unique number using http://designstudioexpress.com/spc_tool.html?1  but that did not work either.

I have tried connecting to the phone via cdmaws/qpst/qxdm etc.... but not luck.

I was looking for something that was still great for this phone after Straight Talk stripped it to the core and I found out that it plays movies great. I use a 3gp converter and watch movies as clear as day and I keep a movie in cue for times when Im bored and don't want to surf the net. You dont even need a converter there are sites out there that you can just download the movie in a 3gp file but you need the computer connection cable cuz ST put a limit to the size of a Download.
I really do not think its ST all by themselves I think Verizon is putting as cap on these things too so there data bandwidth wont be that compromising. Streaming videos and big file downloads with GPS can really clog up the bandwidth but what I do not get is the lack of games... why no games? There has got to be a hack to allow the use of the metro PCS software on the ST phone there has just got to be. I know Ive done it with other phones to flash it so its one componys phone but another componys software.

Wow... it looks like no one has posted news on the finesse runing under straight Talk, and now that they are not working the phone no more I guess there will be less.

Hey did some one of you experience problems with the text message on your phone? I just activate my and its working fine for me, but i can only recieve text from verizon or straight talk phones, my siter have a AT&T phone and if I text her she get my text with no problem but she reply and I dont get any text...

I call 4 times ST and they cant figure what can be wrong, I know its not the phone because I can send and recieve text with no problem, and the web its working 100%... this partially sucks but my friend have verizon or straigh talk so I can text most of them.

I have had mine for over a week and no issues with txts from other carriers.  I was starting to doubt my choice of phone until i realized i am not in to games, streaming and downloading.  although I do wish google search was a real google search. and a radio apps so i can listen to pens games when i can't be at a tv.

I like the phone, I love to send video messages to my family, the web browser is not bad, my need for web on the go is really reduced to wikipedia, hotmail, weather channel and Ebay... and all of this just run perfect on the little browser.

Games on a phone? hahaha, if I want to play a game on the go I use my PSP!  Grin

I have load a couple of movies on a memory card, and Im talking full lengh movies on mp4 format... but more for test than really because I want to watch them, the video player is good but there are some details that make a little hard to watch the movie (if you move a lot the video flip from vertical to horizontal over and over).

On the other hand the phone handle mp3 files really good, and you can drag the widget to the main screen and still recieve and send text!

The only bad think for me its the fact the text is not working fine, so like notifications from ebay or facebook dont show...   Cry

I hope that maybe when my first 30 days of service are up and I put a new card ont he account the sistem will reebot and start working fine... because the customer service of straight talk sucks and I dont want to keep calling for 45 minutes to do the same crapy 3 steps to fix the phone, Maybe I should just call with a dickhead acctitud and scream to the customer care rep and maybe they will do something!!!
