In my opinion, no. This is a limitation of the OS. It was about 13 years ago when I was on a pc with 4 mb of ram with windows 3.11 that I learned that it's possible to play mp3s while surfing the web (I was using a 16 bit mp3 codec). If I could do that back then, a phone with this capacity can do it now.

Flash 4 and 240x400 mp4 playback (eh at 30fps) would have fried that box. If the phone can handle these types of things, then it can easily browse and play mp3s at the same time based on what I know. Still, it might be a really good idea to use your ac adapter if you plan on doing that for more than about 1.5 hours even when we have a good solution for this gripe.

I think its going to take hacking how the web browser is shown, as it appears now, it shuts everything else off and shows it in a full screen method, but it may be possible in the future to change it be more like a widget, and not kill other devices. Only time will tell, many other things have to be figure out be that though.
