Samsung's press kit at CTIA today had a little surprise in it: several photos of the Finesse, a new high-end, touch-screen phone for MetroPCS.

The Finesse is functionally similar to the Samsung Delve for Alltel and the Instinct for Sprint. Like the Delve, it has Samsung's widget-based TouchWiz interface, though it isn't a smart phone. The phone has a 3", 240x400 touch screen and a 2-megapixel camera. It's capable of running on 3G networks, though MetroPCS's 3G rollout is spotty so far.

The Finesse is the first MetroPCS phone with a full Web browser, and it also comes with a GPS driving-directions application, mobile IM, an email program, and music and video players. The phone costs $349 from MetroPCS - that seems expensive, but Metro doesn't require a contract, so they don't subsidize phones the way the big [edit:ybom]providers do[/edit].

Know that the Finesse also touts an accelerometer. It works well enough when working with photos and watching movies. Beware the extreme battery drain on this thing though! Whew!

I give the finesse  Grin Grin Grin  and 1/2 out of 5

mainly because the web site is hard to navigate to find soloutions to problems. and the lack of devices to help you  with transfers and other issues.

over all the phone does what i want, but another down side is this if you use the navagation, web, movies, it will drain the battery really fast.  but if you have something you can connect it to aka cigerette lighter your good to go.

the web browsing is alot faster than on the other samsung with the keypad on it.  the photo option works very well, but if you want the zoom feature you will need to downgrade the pixel from 2mb to 1 or less. the lower the quality, the more you can zoom in.

you can zoom in with the camcorder feature also. to zoom, you simply use the volume switch on the side of th phone.

the best feature is the middle black button that no one at metroPCS knows what it is used for.  Even i cant figure it out. but it is a cool feature.

over all it is a good phone. and im sure samsung and or metropcs will improve it.  I look forward to seeing more options for this phone soon.

the middle black button on the right side is a shortcut for voice commands  you need to run the training session on the finesse and then press the button and the phone will ask you for a command. you can have it go anywhere you want and do pretty much everything except voice to text and coocking and cleaning.. lol
