I'm not sure, I've been trying to locate the files via QPST and I've also tried some other option with no luck yet.  I'll give SPST a shot though.  They must be in some directory not able to be viewed/accessed by QPST because I've been all through the file system with no luck.  I can't locate any of the files with the names that show up on the phone.  Maybe they are named differently?

I'm still poking around...  I'll let you guys know what I find. (xbox is not around currently so I can't just easily ask the question, although I'm learning a lot by doing myself and not leaning on folks...)
I think you have to install this on your Fin

That is a possibility.  I even tried BrewFM (which I thought showed other files/directories that QPST didn't....) and still no luck.

I'm going to try SPST first, then I'll look into BTIL.  Too.  Many.  Apps.  Required.

Dam you samsung!  Dam you BREW!  ...And last but not least, Dam you MPCS!  Grin

Tried SPST, no dice...  Reminds me I need to get my MSL code.  All I have is my SPC.

Now to try BrewFM once more and then I'm off to see what adfree dug up in that other post Hot_Boy linked to.....

Just tried going through the file manager again.  Nothing!  My assumption is that it's some kind of .mod or .bar file where I have to extract it and open it in another program to get them out.  I think then I may have to recompile the .mod/.bar file and put it back.  Similar to what xbox did with the start up animation.  Or I just could be completely wrong and looking up my own @ss. haha

I'm trying!

Anyone know which options to choose here for the BTIL installation?

So I installed BTIL and got the rest of the Brew Tools suite..

When I use the AppLoader, I still can't seem to locate any file(s) that resembled any of the stock wallpapers.  Huh

I'm going to keep at it over the weekend when I have more time to dedicate to it.

BIG thanks to adfree for the software hookup(s)..  Grin

OK, so I found the folder where the stock wallpapers are located. (Thanks xbox)

It seems that I can only see them with the BrewTools AppLoader/BTIL....

And... To use the AppLoader you need a valid testsig and you'll need to install BTIL to your phone. [I don't know if this is a required step but I do it anyway ::  I go into BTIL on my phone, then use QXDM to "Start" BTIL on the phone.   Then I bring up AppLoader on my pc and get into the file system.

In the resources folder you'll see /wallpaper where all the preloaded wallpapers are.  I am going to mess with it and resize some images and will send them to my phone and see what the "lock" looks like.

For my first test I am going to overwrite all the stock photos with 1 image (renaming it to match all the file names currently existing....) and will check out the "lock."

I will advise of results.

Success!

You must rename the file to match the existing preloaded file!

Again, you'll need BTIL/AppLoader/QXDM and a VALID testsig.

I can't get you a testsig so please don't ask!  I wish I could, but sorry folks...

I renamed it EXACTLY how the image was named on the phone.  IE - Preloaded_01.gif

I made sure it was a .gif file and set to 200X400.  I just downloaded one from google.  It's on my phone and working now.

However, I just tried to upload another image I convered to .gif and resized with no luck.  I got a white screen at the screensaver page. I just used an online image editor, so that may be why.  I don't have photoshop or any other imaging tools on my work pc.  I'm going to keep poking at it.

I just downloaded another image and resized it, changed it to a gif and it worked.  Didn't fit the screen as nice as I would have hoped, but it worked nonetheless.

I did it.
Every time i put the image on wallpaper folder it got renamed to lower case.
So I open AppLoader in BTIL and on the left upper corner hit Module/List I add a 0 kb text document in the resources folder then open EFS Explorer. Now I can see resources folder in EFS Explorer and I add my image Named Preloaded_01.gif .....Success!!! I change my screen saver

I remember reading that xbox did something similar to see certain directories...

Good call.  I had completely forgotten about it.

Glad to hear you got yours changed.

And for some reason in the post above, I couldn't get my latest screensaver to show up....

One thing I noticed, you can download iphone wallpapers and use them as your default screen wallpaper and they look perfect on the Fin.  However, when used as screensaver(s), they are skewed a bit.  Hmmmmm....
