Another cookie. Nice nice. And for all of you getting frustrated thinking that you gotta use hacks to make the Fin work right - just wait. Let the community work! It's much faster than waiting on MPCS to come out with something.

Nice work. Made it a sticky.  This music player blows. Needs, in no particular order, fast forward, repeat, adjustable equalizer with more presets and a few others I've written down somewhere. Time to start looking for a replacement (MP).

for the media player ( mp3 ) it does have fast forward , the button for the next just press and hold ( like the video player the time line does not work ) you have to use the next button . repeat , it does have a repeat ( above the time line the middle one is for repeat ( 1 with arrows going in a circle , a with arrows going in a circle is for all mp3 to repeat or the play list that you have selected , A  with a line under it  is for normal play . ( the one to the right of it is for shuffle the one with the line going through it is shuffle off . equalizer only works when head phones are plugged into it . it has normal , rock , jazz , classic .  ( i pod head phones fit it think like 3.5 mm i think thats the size ..

Yep, I stand corrected...mostly. Should've read the damn manual. I'm finished with OS X, so it's now back to business.

I know about the equalizer and ebuds. I stand by the equalizer comment. Normal sounds too much like classic and rock has a flat base, at least to my ears. I don't bother selecting jazz, as the bass is nonexistent and the treble too shrill.

What's needed is a manual equalizer control, preferably with an option to save the setting as a preset. That way, when you change ebuds to headsets or vice versa, you'll have the control there for you. The problem I've found over the years is that different buds or headsets have different qualities (bass, treble, mid-range) that sometimes need to be corrected, depending on what you feel is deficient. Five-band would suffice, 7 would be better, and 10 would be heaven a la WMP 10/11.

Should be a relatively easy mod for some enterprising hacker...

that all depends on you . if your going to have 5000 songs and movies and pics . then ya u need it . but if your going to keep 300 songs and a movie or 2 then a smaller one will just do fine ...

well i assume that since it freazes every time that i try to add all to my playlist. it must be that there is an insufficient space aquisition. tho since there is no real error output i can only guess, spend $60, and hope for the best....

and realisticly a 16 gig stick wont hold more than around 1400 files or so assuming they are all consistantly 3-4 megs but since the existance of songs like "yellow submerine" is aparent we cant have correct math for that... lol sorry just had to throw that in there.. a lil off topic tho heh.

Thanks for getting it stuck in my head for the millionth time. Heh.

If the battery life were better, I would say that you could think of it as about 30 (90 min/600 meg) movies. Or 25 movies and about 1000 (3 meg) mp3s. I'm just looking forward to the day that someone develops a $25 PDA designed mostly to transfer files between flash cards. Maybe I should invent it...hmmm.
