Key pad emulation via PC connection:

This is intended for a more advanced user...

Check list of software needed:
-Fin drivers for USB
-QPST 2.7 build 323 (older might be ok)
-QXDM 3.9.10

Here is link for QXDM - http://rapidshare.com/files/44029571/QXDM_3.9.10_By_amoamare.rar.html

Install QPST (i am sure you already have it) Open the QXDM rar and READ THE README.TXT This will show you how to install the QXDM software.

Once you are all done installing.. its time to have fun!!  Grin

1. Plug you phone into USB
2. Start up QXDM from start/qxdm/qxdm on the start menu.
3. You will see a globe on your task bar, this is the Qualcomm QPST port config app, open it up and make sure your phone is their under ports tab. You may have to add it. If you have run QPST in the past it should be ok to go.
4. In QXDM, click communications, then change "target port" to your fin comm port. (like com4) Dont change anything else. Click OK.
5. To start keypad, goto view/new/common/keypad.

Your keypad should pop up, if you phone is connected you should be able to use the keypad to emulate REAL key presses. To test it, while still connected, open the dialer on your FIN, then press the number key on the computer....and watch the number pop up on the FIN...LOL

THIS WORKS ON FIN!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

You can BRICK your phone with this program!!! I take no responsibility if you mess up your stuff!!!

Could this theoretically be used to connect a keypad device to the fin?

I guess... as long as the key presses are outputting the proper commands for the fin to register.

xbox - Any ideas why my phone isnt coming up in the "target" port box?  I only see COM1 and my phone is listed in device manager under COM4.

Here is my quandry, I purchased Tetris from Metro and wanted to share it.  However, QPST and AppLoader both can't get the files off the phone. (Assuming encryption...)  I can only copy the directory.

So I got a suggestion that BrewFM may be able to copy over the files I need to pull off.  But I can't use BrewFM without QXDM working properly.

Any ideas?

I removed the registry entry for my com port listing and restarted and that still didn't work.

Hmmm... i have no idea why it wouldn't work.

But, QXDM is just like QPST, when you start it you get a globe icon on your system tray. Open it and make sure you have the phone listed their, if not, ckick add new port... and select your port.

Yes, you will have to use BrewFM to copy the MODs dir... but your MIF will be useless once off the phone. You will have to make a new one. You will need the Brew ID for that game. Its listed in the config.text in the brew DIR.
